Eternal Flame Falls

Eternal Flame
Have you ever seen the Eternal Flame Falls?

Two weeks ago, we went to see the Eternal Flame Falls with a couple of our friends. It’s about forty minutes driving from our house. Eternal Flame Falls is a small waterfall located in Shale creek in the southeast corner of Chestnut Ridge Park. A small grotto on the right side of the falls emits natural gas which can be lit to produce a small flame. When we walk towards the falls we smell the methane gas and people bring a lighter so they can lit the small waterfall. The trail is only 1.5 miles round trip so it’s perfect for me! LOL. It’s really nice to explore and do some cool outdoor stuff. I am not a hiker but I am willing to do it and have fun with our friends. One of our friends bring their two dogs and they hike with us. It’s really nice to see that this animals enjoying their walk. Of course we have to stop and let them sniff the surroundings. And it’s funny one of their older dog took a bath once we get to the falls. She let herself feel comfortable and cool down after a long walk.

A lot of people who hike in this area stop by and see this place to see this beautiful nature. That day there’s a quite few people visited the falls and I saw one family bring their baby!

I recommend to visit this place if you haven’t been. Let me know if you need any help!
