Lumpiang shanghai

Lumpiang Shanghai or Spring rolls is a one of the popular dishes in the Philippines, especially during feasts or celebrations. It is a dish made with any meat like ground pork, ground chicken or even ground beef, minced onion, carrots, salt and pepper, and with a beaten egg. Today, I'm going to show you how to make it and I'm going to use ground pork. Let's get started and here's what you need.

  • 1 kilo ground pork
  • 1 large onion, minced
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped finely
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • cilantro
  • salt and pepper
  • spring roll wrappers
  • cooking oil for frying

1. In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together with ground pork, onion, carrots, garlic, cilantro, salt, pepper and a beaten egg; then mix well.
2. Get a plate, place the wrapper on top, and put some of the meat then roll it properly.
3. Fry the wrapped meat and make sure that both sides are cooked.
4. Serve with sweet and sour sauce and enjoy!
